Chronic Fatigue
Do you sleep long hours but don’t feel refreshed in the morning? Does your energy crash in the afternoon? Do you just not feel 100%
Obviously, energy drives your performance and motivation, without these, life can lose direction quite quickly. We see variations in energy, tiredness, sluggish, chronic fatigue. So the key is to establish the underlying cause and then treat the problem.
Your liver is your energy production organ, so your diet and digestion have a huge impact on your energy levels. We have all felt the crash after certain foods. Food intolerances will always cause an energy slump. We see some people with a perfect diet but low energy. Food should be digested and made available for energy, if this doesn’t happen we need to look at the liver again as the liver controls digestion. We can clarify if you have a food intolerance. We can help you improve your liver function and improve your ability to digest those nutrients out of your food so they can be delivered around the body and made available to fuel your energy on a constant basis… Life changing stuff!
Adrenal Fatigue
Running on empty or driving down the motorway in 3rd gear is a common explanation of how our clients feel. Exhausted, can’t relax, the mind won’t turn off, revving too high, wake up in the night and worry even if there is nothing to worry about hmmm, is this you? You may have heard about cortisol? In the caveman days – Kill the tiger and take it home for dinner or run from the tiger to save your life, both actions are driven by adrenalin fight or flight – cortisol. A short-term hit to help manage a situation. What is happening nowadays it the short-term hit is becoming a constant hit and adrenaline keeps pumping and doesn’t switch off. This is exhausting (hence the name adrenal exhaustion) as those who have adrenal fatigue will well know.
The adrenal glands sit on top of the kidneys and are responsible for the secretion of adrenaline, cortisol, DHEA and other hormones that are required for proper body function during times of stress, whether it is physical, emotional, or mental. Over long periods of stress, the adrenal glands become exhausted and so does the person. The whole body, including the immune system, becomes weak and vulnerable.
Adrenal fatigue is one of the most commonly seen conditions in our clinic. We help you understand how your body does and doesn’t work and what nutrients you need to nourish your adrenals. The results are often life-changing as your body slows down – peace and calm becomes the norm.
